seo roundup smallHello Everyone,

Welcome to this weeks SEO roundup, today we have plenty of interesting blog posts to get through.

Advanced meta information from SEOMoz, a condensed guide to keyword research from Aaron Wall, an analysis of social media marketing and blogger surrounding the area from Michael Gray, even more reasons to start a blog on your site from Lee McCoy and finally a case study from Rae Hoffman looking at the value of SEO versus general marketing.

Firstly we have a more directly educational post from SEOMoz. Danny Dover has detailed a whole selection of tips on using webmaster tools and understanding more advanced meta robots commands.

This is a great post as an overview of all these services, if you want to know more about a specific area be sure to check out our affiliate tutorials pages.

———-

Aaron wall posted a fairly handy and condensed guide to keyword research, while I know there are much more detailed research guides out there (even from myself and Aaron) I like how this one has been designed as a five minute job.

We would all love to spend an hour on keyword research but its not always possible which is where things like this come in.

Next up is a slightly negative, but none the less informative, post from Michael Gray over at Wolf Howl.

Gray talks about the deceit of so called “Social Media Experts” and points out some harsh but simple truths that debunk many of these posters as attention grabbers or low quality posters and SEOs at best.

I am mainly in agreement with Michaels post, there are a lot of poor blog posts out there about grabbing Social Media attention, most from people who have never succeeded in doing so. I am still confident social media is a strong vehicle that you can use to drive SEO/.Affiliate success but it has to come from being good at it not a step by step guide written by someone else.

A more affiliate based SEO post next from UK based affiliate marketer, Lee McCoy. Lee has written an interesting post about how he feels blogging is still one of the most important SEO tactics around.

He’s got some quotes and opinions on why this is an generally I agree with him. Blogging when done right, and I must emphasise that point, is a fantastic SEO strategy

———-

Finally a case study post from Rae Hoffman examining the effects of successful traffic driving on SEO. Don’t let Rae’s tabloid blog heading put you off the post is not just trashing SEO but is explaining why it is not the only important factor when trying to encourage growth on a site.

That’s all for today pretty much remember to keep your eyes peeled for more interesting posts and if you feel up to it try following me on Twitter!
