Affiliate of the Month - Tony's own words
Imagine that thousands of affiliates, hundreds of merchants and the MoreNiche™ team vote for you to win affiliate of the month. How proud would you feel?
If pride is not enough, then how about the MoreNiche™ affiliate of the month trophy? Personally engraved.
Every month we interview the affiliate of the month. If you want to suggest some questions then please post these on the MoreNiche™ affiliate network forum.
Congratulations Tony, how do you feel wearing the AOTM crown?
Thrilled to bits. I’ve not been with MoreNiche™ very long so it was a real surprise.
Tell us a little about yourself, what’s your background and experience?
I’m from South East London, UK. I’m 39 years old and at the moment I work for an IT company. I also run (with the wife) a catering company. Although I have been online for 10 years or so I have not had the need to build websites etc…that was until I had to build and promote our catering website a couple of years ago.
It was then that I really saw the potential of making money online.
What were the key factors to get you here today?
The resources MoreNiche™ provide have been a major factor. Free websites, design services guides, articles the MoreNiche™ support forum, everything I need is all under one roof. The support staff get on my case and motivate me to work on my promotions – I’m not complaining though
How long did it take for you to get your 1st MoreNiche™ sale and what was it?
I joined in March, but didn’t really start doing anything until around May.
The first order happened almost by accident after a couple of weeks I hadn't really made a start – a Proactol™ sale - the commission was $60.
What kind of sales results have you achieved with MoreNiche™ products?
I have been promoting Proactol™ for just over 2 months and I think I have around 17 sales so far averaging $70 a piece. In truth I have only spent around 2 days working on my site and earned nearly $1200.
The potential is absolutely huge and I plan on spending more time working on my MoreNiche™ promotions and working on more of their products.
Don’t be shy! Share some of your methods with others, what works for you?
I only target my country (UK) – because I am fairly familiar with their buying habits. I just wish I lived in the states as the market is 10 times as big.
I use PPC and will do until the SEO starts to kick in and then hopefully reduce my spend. The key thing is that you are not selling that particular product but suggesting that product in an unbiased way.
I’ve also had a lot of advice from the MoreNiche™ team, if you want to know what they have told me, well, you will need to contact them!
In your opinion, what makes a great affiliate program?
Trust is paramount for me – I have promoted affiliate programs that just do not pay out, never mind convert!
The way the MoreNiche™ system operates should be the way all affiliate programs operate. I can always speak to someone, the operation is transparent and they highly value their affiliates.
What are the most important factors to succeed in affiliate marketing?
When you break it down, affiliate marketing is no different to any other sales type environment. You are the consultant between customer and product/supplier.
I think its important to remain fairly impartial, and not come across too biased in your promotion.
In general though, finding the right affiliate program to partner with will give you focus.
Do you have any tips for other affiliates?
Don’t waste time on forums looking for the golden goose. This is as close as you will get. Stick with one or two niches and try to get inside that niche, understand it.
Weight Loss, Male enhancement etc…do not appear to be the most interesting of niches, but get interested in them they are the highest paying!
Thanks for your time TonyJ.
